Your privacy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
For players
You can play without telling us your name. We do not record your screen, ask for your location, or show adverts. Your best scores stay on this device.
We count plays to make the games better. Game statistics start on, but you can switch them off whenever you like. We remember an earlier choice to switch them off. Saying no does not change what you can play.
Who is responsible?
Rugby Arcade is based in the United Kingdom. Contact info@rugbyarcade.com about privacy or to exercise your rights.
What the website uses
- To deliver the games: Amazon Web Services (AWS) processes connection information, including your IP address, to send pages and receive requests. Provider operational and security processing is separate from our statistics database.
- On your device: best scores and your statistics preference are stored locally. Saved best scores are not uploaded. See device storage.
- If you contact us: we receive your email address and what you choose to tell us. Please do not send a child’s name, school, date of birth or other unnecessary personal details.
Game statistics
When statistics are on, your browser sends a fixed page name, a game start, a round start or completion (round number and success), or a game completion (number of successful rounds). The games currently have ten rounds. There is no event ID, player ID or client timestamp in these requests.
Our AWS endpoint in London immediately increments daily totals for the relevant page, game or round, including total successes. It does not save individual event rows. The statistics database contains only a UTC date, a fixed counter name, total count, success total where applicable, and a retention date. Totals are private to the operator. They cannot tell us who played, how many distinct people played, or who returned.
We do not send names, email addresses, dates of birth, school or club details, typed text, movements, full URLs, query strings, referral pages or saved best scores in statistics requests. We do not use session recordings, automatic click tracking, advertising, location enrichment, player profiles or tracking between visits.
AWS necessarily receives your network connection and ordinary HTTP information to handle a request. Our counter code does not read or store IP addresses or user agents, and we have not enabled request/access logging for this endpoint. This is not a claim that your connection is invisible to AWS.
Your choice
Use to turn statistics off or on. A one-click off control is also shown on the homepage and game cards, and the setting is available in every game’s menu. You do not need an account or an adult confirmation. All games work either way.
Switching off stops new requests and attempts to cancel requests still in progress; it cannot undo counts already received. We retain your browser’s choice until you change it or clear site data, including an earlier opt-out from our previous analytics. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals also switch statistics off. If preference storage cannot be read, statistics stay off.
Clearing this site’s browser data removes your preference and returns the setting to on unless your browser sends one of those privacy signals. A choice applies to this browser and site address; set it separately on other devices or addresses you use.
Why we use information
Our sole statistics purpose is to improve these games—for example, to find popular games or rounds that need a difficulty adjustment. We rely on the UK PECR statistical-purposes exception for this limited processing, with clear information and a free, simple right to object. For personal information necessarily processed while handling a statistics request, our UK GDPR basis is legitimate interests in improving the service. We minimise that processing and take account of children’s interests; we do not make decisions about individual players.
We also rely on legitimate interests to operate a secure website and answer enquiries. Local score storage supports the requested game and preference storage remembers your choice. Read the ICO’s explanation of the statistics exception.
Providers and international processing
AWS hosts the site and the aggregate counter. The counter and database run in the London region. Global page delivery, provider support and subprocessors may involve processing outside the UK under applicable provider terms and transfer safeguards. Read AWS’s privacy information or contact us about safeguards.
New game statistics no longer go to PostHog. Events previously collected under the earlier opt-in arrangement may remain in the EU PostHog project; see the retention information below. We do not sell player information.
How long information is kept
Incoming statistics are processed in memory and immediately combined into counters; our application does not persist raw play events. Daily aggregate counts are scheduled to expire after 400 days. AWS database TTL deletion is asynchronous, so removal can take a few additional days; our reporting tool excludes expired rows.
Saved scores and your statistics choice remain on this browser until cleared or changed. Historical opt-in PostHog events have not been deleted as part of this change. Their retention depends on the plan and enforcement for that project; there is no shorter configured deletion schedule. See PostHog’s retention rules. They are not part of the new default-on statistics service.
Correspondence is kept only while needed to answer an enquiry and deal with related issues or legal obligations. Provider operational and security records follow their applicable policies.
Your rights and questions
You can object to game statistics instantly using the setting above. Depending on the circumstances, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact info@rugbyarcade.com. A parent or guardian can help a child exercise their rights. We cannot extract a player’s contribution from aggregate totals because we do not keep player identifiers.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes
We will update this notice if the service changes. Advertising, profiling, persistent player tracking or other uses outside the statistics exception are not covered by this arrangement.
